Lars Hiele (1998) is a Dutch-born multidisciplinary artist, designer, and researcher based in Antwerp.
Working at the intersection of nightlife, music, design, and visual culture, he explores how subcultures produce meaning through sound, space, and collective experience.
Educated at Sint Lucas School of Arts Antwerp, Hiele begins each project with deep cultural, philosophical, and historical research, using concept as the foundation for production. His practice regards subculture as a living ecosystem, unfolding across graphic identity, audiovisual installation, spatial intervention, and live VJ performance.
As a VJ, he constructs real-time, audio-reactive environments — one-of-a-kind experiences shaped collaboratively with movement, music, and audience, existing only in the moment.
Through his studio Rokersruimte, he collaborates with institutions, festivals, and underground initiatives, placing cultural integrity at the forefront. His work bridges underground and institutional contexts without flattening their complexity, creating shared spaces where art, music, and design coexist as lived, communal experiences.
