Miguel Rózpide

Miguel Rózpide (b. 1997, Pontevedra, Spain) Miguel Rózpide is a multimedia artist based in Antwerp, Belgium, whose practice investigates the architecture of psychic distance and the physical artefacts of human connection, he utilises analog photography and archival processes to explore how memory and history are reconfigured.

His attraction to these rigid systems is deeply personal, rooted in a childhood of isolation where he realised that while he could not always bridge gaps with words he could bridge them through objects. For him installations and archives become safe, structured environments where he can use the cold logic of a system to say what he cannot say out loud. By documenting the “blind spots” of shared experiences he creates non-linear spaces where the heavy weight of technical reality meets the fragile weightlessness of human emotion.
